Our Legacy

Romer & Company was founded in the 1974 by Nick Romer, a visionary who established the firm on the principles of integrity and personalized service. Nick’s dedication to his clients set a high standard, making Romer & Company a trusted name in the Minneapolis community.

In the 1990s, Nick passed the torch to Derf Bistodeau. Derf’s tenure was marked by his exceptional professionalism and heartfelt connections with clients. Tragically, Derf passed away in 2010, but his legacy of dedication and kindness lives on. Many of the clients he served continue to place their trust in us, a testament to the enduring relationships he built.

After Derf’s passing, his wife, Karen Coon, took over the reins. Karen’s leadership was instrumental in maintaining the firm’s reputation for excellence. In December 2023, Karen honored the firm’s legacy by selling it to the dedicated employees who had been the backbone of the company.
